Tumbling Bay Lake

Address

Tumbling Bay Weir, Star St, Ware SG12 7AW, United Kingdom

Fishery Information

This fishery is run by Ware Angling Club.

The large lake, located between Ware and Hardmead, was formed through gravel extraction and boasts depths of up to 16 feet. It is situated between the Old River Lea and the River Lea Navigation. However, it’s important to note that the eastern end of the lake, which is owned by Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust, does not permit fishing.

What size do the fish go to?

Due to the vastness of the lake, the exact fish species present are not fully known. However, there have been reports of large carp and pike being caught prior to the club taking over in April 2008. In recent years, some anglers have successfully caught large carp, but it typically requires dedicated effort and time on the water.

What tactics work well?

Anglers may benefit from experimentation and adapting their approach based on the prevailing conditions and the behavior of the fish in the lake.

What facilities are on site?

Anglers are requested to contact the facility.

Is parking available?

Anglers are requested to contact the facility.
