Fishery Information

Situated in peaceful surroundings near Penwortham, Lancashire, Vernon’s lodge is a mixed fishery that offers ideal sport for both the novice and more seasoned angler. The water is surrounded by mature trees, which offer homes to a selection of birdlife. Furthermore, the natural surroundings of the lake offer shelter and a variety of fishing features.

There are many spacious pegs to be found around the water’s age, with several of them being fully accessible to both the elderly and disabled angler. The water is stocked with a healthy variety of Tench, Bream, Perch, Rudd, Carp and Pike.

What size do the fish go to?

Tench, Bream, Perch and Rudd tend to weigh between 2-7lbs. Carp and Pike are caught with frequency at a weight in the double figures, with larger fish recorded well in excess of 20lbs.

What tactics work well?

Standard still water tactics are effective and using the feeder with sweetcorn or worms can work well in enticing the larger carp. Throughout the warmer months, anglers may wish to consider utilising pellets and boilies.

What facilities are on site?

The venue has been designed with the elderly and disabled angler in mind. Clean and accessible toilet facilities are available to visitors.
