Fishery Information

Located in the stunning countryside setting of Higham, near Burnley, The Rising Fishery offers a fantastic day’s sport to both the novice and more experienced angler. The venue comprises of 3 lakes in total, all of which offer a range of fishing features plus a healthy and varied stock of species.

Broomstick is a smaller lake consisting of 8 pegs in total. It has an average depth of 5 feet and is home to a range of Carp, Chud, Barbell Tench and Ide.

Cauldron provides an ideal spot for coarse fishing. There are ample spacious pegs, many of which are accessible to the disabled and elderly angler. The waters are home to a variety of Roach, Bream, Barbell and Carp.

Harrow is a purpose-built fly-fishing site. It boasts a healthy stock of Brown, Rainbow and Tiger Trout.

What size do the fish go to?

Bream, Tench, Roach and Rudd tend to weigh between 3 and 7lbs. Barbell and Carp frequently come in at 10lbs, with the larger fish weighing over 20lbs.

What tactics work well?

Using a feeder with maggots, worms or sweetcorn tends to bring good results. Anglers may also consider using pellets and boilies during the warmer months.

What facilities are on site?

There is an on-site café which offers a range of freshly prepared meals, as well as hot and cold beverages. Clean and accessible toilet facilities are open to all visitors.
