Fishery Information

Waperwell is run by Newton Abbot Fishing Association and is part of the Clifford Estate. It’s a very old water which is estimated to be over 300 years old. It was originally dugout as a duck pond for the estate. A lot of work has been done on this lake over the years to ensure it’s great for fishing.

The pond itself is 1 acre in size and is stocked with a lot of silverfish such as skimmers, and roach. There’s also plenty of tench, crucians and some F1 carp.

This is not a big carp fishery, which some fishermen may love. It’s just a nice small, pond, that’s made for basic coarse fishing.

What size do the fish go to?

It’s unknown, but it’s not a big carp venue.

What tactics work well?
