Fishery Information

Located to the northeast of Bridgnorth in Shropshire, the Woodland Lodge Pools are overseen by the Kinver Freeliners Angling Club.

There are two pools as part of this complex, both of which are stocked with a mix of carp, perch, roach, rudd, tench, bream, and eels. Both lakes feature an island and both feature depths of five to six feet.

The second pool at Woodland Lodge Pools has been the subject of recent refurbishment efforts, with attention given to an enlargement project. The goal for the Club is to create a fine purpose-driven fishery.

The second pool now features a host of permanent swims. The planting of lilies and reeds is on schedule, while new bushes and greenery will be planted around the water. Carp will be microchipped for security purposes, with special attention given to a restocking process to boost the content of the pool.

The second pool is for Club members only.

What size do the fish go to?

Carp in these lakes measure up to 20 pounds. Commons and mirrors up to 20 pounds are in the stocking phase as of this writing.

What tactics work well?

The new features in the second pool provide plenty of opportunity for anglers to get creative with their tactics. The action is hot near the island, where underwater bars provide excellent balance against the shallows and push fish to the margins. This provides ample cover for a variety of strategic approaches.

Do not put fish over three pounds in keepnets. Unhooking mats must be used on specimen fish.

Dip nets before use.

Is parking available?

Parking is located on the gravel track near the side of the first pool. If the weather is good, anglers can drive to the second pool. Be aware that this area gets muddy.
