Fishery Information

York Lakeside Lodges is a beautiful fishing venue that is also home to some of the nicest lodges in all of Yorkshire. If you’re staying a lodge while you fish, you can end a very rewarding day’s fishing in the hot tub looking out over the lake for an area to target the following morning. If you are local to York Lakeside Lodges, you need to be a member of the syndicate to fish the lake. Why become a syndicate member? Well, there are loads of stunning carp to catch in this 10-acre lake. Carp that look like they have painted, only they are real and ready for your bait.

What size do the fish go to?

There are mirror and common carp in this lake to over 30lbs. The large mirrors come out the most often, and a few of them are breathtaking. There are also ghosties in this lake that are hard to catch, but your arms will know about it when you hook one. There are also good bream, pike, eels, perch and tench in this lake for anyone not looking to catch the carp.

What tactics work well?

Fishing to reed beds is a very good tactic on this lake. There are also a few islands to fish to, but most of the fishing here is done in the open water. Finding a clear spot in the open is ideal in most pegs. PVA bags to showing fish can often lead to an early bite too.

What facilities are on site?

There are lodges that are perfect for your fishing trip. There are also public toilets.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available.
