Fishery Information

Cited as a premier carp fishery, Amwell Lakes is comprised of two bodies of water. It’s settled in Lea Valley and is a members-only fishing spot.

The first lake is three acres in size. It’s considered the second choice for most anglers at Amwell, which makes it one of the quieter spots on the property. This has stocks of carp, complete with a hand-picked mix of Sutton strain and Fishers Pond strains joining the regular stock.

The second lake is larger at five acres in size. This spot is full of younger fish, who are in fighting shape and ready to put in work on the preferably tight lines.

What size do the fish go to?

Carp well over 25 pounds are found in the first lake. Three common carp were inserted, each up to 27 pounds or more.

The second lake boasts the Silver Common, a fish clocking in over 37 pounds and two ounces. A number of others range over 30 pounds.

The venue record is a mirror carp over 40 pounds, 12 ounces and a common carp over 40 pounds, six ounces.

Bream up to eight pounds have been pulled from Amwell Lakes.
