Asheldham Fishery Information

Asheldham Fisheries is in an easy to find location close to Northend in Essex. It is owned and administered by the Billericay and District Angling Club which is the longest-established in the county.

With a choice of several well-stocked lakes, Asheldham Fisheries is popular with anglers of all levels of experience. There are many swims to choose from in a variety of settings.

Fish in the lakes include carp plus bream, roach, perch, tench and rudd. The fishery is also known for large eels which are caught quite often.

The lakes are described by regulars as being productive, with carp well into double figures. Many of the fish in the lakes are mature and of good weights.

The waters are well-kept by the club and offer an opportunity to enjoy quality fishing without travelling to a remote location. There are pegs modified for disabled persons.

Night fishing can be arranged by appointment.

What size do the fish go to?

Fish at Asheldham Fisheries can be serious weights, with carp in excess of 30lb having been landed. Look out for the large eels which are a prime catch.

What tactics work well?

Regulars at Asheldham Fisheries say that bread flake, worms and maggots are the preferred bait.
