Arrans lake Information

Offering two well-stocked fishing lakes, Arrans Lakes is a short distance from Chelmsford in Essex.

An established fishery with plenty of choice in a pleasant location, it is easy to reach from the main road network.

The main lake has 45 pegs and is home to carp in excess of 10lb and many far heavier. The smaller lake offers 15 pegs and is mainly carp with koi caught occasionally.

In addition to carp the main lake is also home to good stocks of tench, bream, roach and chub of mature ages and good weights.

The open nature of the main lake and its shallow margins make this a popular fishery. The smaller lake features an island and also reed beds.

Arrans Lakes caters for the disabled with adapted pegs and parking close by.

The smaller lake is suitable for children.

What size do the fish go to?

The main lake at Arrans Lakes is stocked with many mature carp and fish in excess of 30lbs are not unusual. Fish of around 8lb are regularly landed. The majority of fish are believed to be under 10lb.

What facilities are on site?

Facilities are as per usual with fisheries such as this, being limited to temporary toilets. Visitors should be aware the location is quite remote.

Is parking available?

Parking is available reasonably close to the pegs at Arrans Lake.

  1. This was one of our favourite fisheries before i moved to New Zealand. I last fished it in 2003 and it always provided a great days sport. Blaze the horse was a bonus as he always made you laugh trying to nick your bait :). Great memories.
