Bannister House Farm Fishery is a magnificent mixed venue that caters to anglers of all experience levels. Located near Mere Brow, close to the city of Preston, local anglers from the Wigan and Preston area visit the venue in large numbers due to its widespread popularity.

It has five lakes, with each adequately stocked with a diversity of coarse fish species. The lakes also provide nearly 200 pegs. Tench, Bream, Roach, Rudd, and Specimen Carp are some of the most popular fish found swimming around in these waterways.

What size do the fish go to?

The weight of a Common or Mirror is approximately 28 pounds on average. Tench and perch typically weigh between six and eight pounds, and the match lake has yielded amazing results totaling over two hundred and fifty pounds of fish.

What tactics work well?

The use of maggots as bait has proved to be effective, particularly when double baiting. When the weather is warmer, using pellets and boilies is a strategy that works well. It is required that all hooks be barbless, and nuts are not allowed under any circumstances.
