Fishery Information

Set in the stunning location of Forton, Preston, Cleverly Bridge comprises of 3 main waters plus 3 smaller stock ponds, all of which can be fished. The setting has become extremely popular with the Lancashire angling community, as the mature grounds provide an array of peaceful places to fish.

The Canal is a narrower stretch of water, going as deep as 5ft and stocking a healthy quantity of Roach, Rudd, Carp, Tench, Bream and Barbel. There are a total of 40 pegs, each offering a variety of fishing features.

Swanbrooke Lake is the specimen lake and hosts a healthy stock of larger fish. The waters are home to a variety of Large Koi and Grass Carp, making the venue ideal for the keen Carp hunter.

What size do the fish go to?

Carp average at around 20lbs but have often weighed in as much as 30lbs. Bream tend to come in at approximately 7-9lbs. The lakes also boast some decent sized Perch, Rudd and Barbel.

What tactics work well?

Using Ground bait feeder tactics can result substantial catches of Bream. Boilies and floaters tend to be optimal for catching the Carp, especially during the warmer months.

What facilities are on site?

There is an on-site bait shop which offers all of the essential gear plus a wide range of the latest bait and tackle. Clean and accessible toilet facilities can be found throughout. Also, if you wanted to stay in the area for a few days, then you might consider booking accommodation in the log cabins.
