Fishery Information

Borrowpit Lake is close to the Snowdome in the middle of Tamworth. In the beginning, the lake was dug up to get at the aggregate needed for the construction of a portion of the ring road.

In addition to having a reputation for being excellent for catching carp, this lake is home to the other coarse fish species that are common in lakes of this type. The pit is home to large shoals of bream, with some specimens reaching far into the double digits.

Those who are ready to put in the time and effort can enjoy some wonderful sport fishing in the pit, which is al home to roach, perch, chub, tench, and eels, among other fish species. Fishing in the lake is challenging, but if you manage to pull it off successfully, the rewards can be incredible.
