Offering tranquil fishing and holidaying experience to their visitors, Burton Springs boasts three beautiful, well-stocked lakes that keep angling enthusiasts hooked. If you are into carp, catfish or coarse fishing, this venue has a lot to offer to you. Even if you are not looking to fish, this site will amaze you with plenty of wildlife as well as quiet walking spots with views you’d love to see.
Kingfisher Lake is a premier catfish lake that is home to approximately 50 catfish ranging between 13 lbs. and 80 lbs.. This lake also has carp that go up to 27 lbs.. This is Somerset’s only licensed catfish water.
On the other hand, Alder Pool is a mixed course fishing lake that is perfect for both pleasure angling and fishing competitions. This water is well-stocked with bream, carp, tench, roach, perch, rudd and crucian carp.
The third pool, the Specimen Carp fishing lake, is their farthest lake that contains common and mirror carp up to 30 lbs.. This water requires prior booking.
What size do the fish go to?
Carp go up to 27 lbs., catfish up to 80 lbs., perch up to 4 lbs., trout up to 6 lbs. and tench up to 8 lbs..
What tactics work well?
These baits work well for fishing on site and are available at the on-site shop: boilies (both shelf life and frozen), ground baits, liquids, pop ups, frozen dead bait, spam, sweetcorn, catfish bait, hard drilled pellets and pellets of various sizes.
What facilities are on site?
Facilities on site include clean shower, washroom, toilets, communal fridge/freezer for both campers and fishermen, microwave, kettle, games (football, dartboard and other board games), DVDs, reading materials, play area and a shop selling food, drinks and fishing supplies and equipment. They also have camping facilities including tent, caravan and motorhome pitches, glamping pods and Lotus Belle tents. They have 1 fully wheelchair accessible toilet/shower unit toilet available. Their recreational room is open 24 hours a day.
