Fishery Information

Emerald Pool Fishery is a fishing complex with four lakes set over 8 acres right in the heart of Bridgewater Bay Nature Reserve. The four lakes fish very differently, with Ruby being the easiest for beginners or those who want to bag a healthy weight of smaller fish. Sapphire is also a very easy lake to fish.

Emerald is where things get a bit harder, but if you are a keen angler, Emerald and Jade will likely be where you head when you arrive. Fished well, these lakes can provide a very busy and fun day’s fishing.

What size do the fish go to?

The fish in Ruby and Sapphire are not that big. You catch a carp of a couple of pounds, but these are designed for beginners.

Emerald holds loads of bream, tench and carp. The carp in this lake reach double figures, and there are some tench to 6lbs too.

Jade holds carp from 5lbs to 36lbs as well as some tench up to 7lbs and some good quality bream as well.

What tactics work well?

You can fish the two easier lakes to fish in just about any way. However, using groundbait, maggots or corn and baiting a small area will catch you plenty of small fish.

The larger fish on the site respond well to single boilies fished over a good mix of hemp and corn. Pellets are a firm favourite with match anglers too, and a method feeder is a great option too.

What facilities are on site?

Emerald Pool Fishery has six holiday cottages on site that sleep between 4-9 people. There is also food available on site and toilets that are easily accessible from all the lakes. There is also a good tackle and bait shop on-site, which can offer a wealth of information about the lakes.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available across the site.
