Fishery Information

Buttonhole Lake is a beautiful fishery that is family-run. It is between King’s Lynn and Wisbeach and offers some fantastic fishing whether you’re going for big carp or just want to enjoy yourself. Match and pole anglers will love Buttonhole Lake as its layout and stock of fish really lend themselves nicely to this type of fishing. Good weights are achievable too, and many of the match results may surprise you.

What size do the fish go to?

The carp go to an impressive 25lbs here, and there are plenty of them. There are loads of double-figure carp too. There are also tench, bream and some barbel to nice weights. Many match anglers over the years, though, have caught enough roach and rudd here to place highly in the matches.

What tactics work well?

This is very much a pleasure and match venue. Because of this, the carp respond very well to pellets, corn and maggots. There is no need to fish boilies at this venue. Pole, float and feeder fishing are all solid choices here. If you’re feeder fishing, do bring some groundbait for later on. For the pole, good quality groundbait and pellets can be all you need but do bring corn and maggots just in case.

What facilities are on site?

Day tickets can be purchased lakeside. There are also matches throughout the year. Toilet facilities are available. There is a wheelchair access peg as well.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available.
