Fishery Information

Dawnsvale Fishery is in Braintree, Essex. It is a 2.5-acre lake that offers some good carp and coarse fishing. There aren’t too many pegs on this lake, so it is worth booking in advance of your visit to save missing out on some good fishing.

You can’t see this lake from the road, so it is a nice and peaceful place to fish. You do need to drive over 5 acres of the Essex countryside to get to the lake, which can make it tricky in the winter. When you arrive, you’ll see a tree-lined lake with loads of cover and lots of potential.

What size do the fish go to?

We aren’t sure how big the fish in Dawnsvale Fishery go to. There are some double-figure carp, but there are likely bigger too. Some locals claim there could be 30lbers in here; we can’t confirm this, though. We do know there are some lovely bream and tench in here too. There are also some pretty good-sized eels. If you’d like to fish for the eels, you need to get permission from Dawnsvale Fishery first.

What tactics work well?

This lake is incredibly deep (25ft at its deepest), so fishing it can be tricky. On warmer days, staying close to the margins where it is shallower is a good option. Most tactics will work well at Dawnsvale Fishery, with the carp, tench and bream all responding nicely to maggots and corn.

What facilities are on site?

There is a toilet. Picnic tables are on-site too.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available.
