What size do the fish go to?

The lake contains a variety of fish species, including Carp, Tench, Roach, Bream, Rudd, Chub, Barbel, Crucians, and Pike. Some of the Carp and Tench in the lake have grown to considerable sizes, reaching weights of over 30 pounds and 7 pounds, respectively. The other species have also achieved good sizes, with specimens weighing up to several pounds.

What tactics work well?

Various tactics can be successful at Christophers Lake, depending on the target species. For Carp and Tench, using barbless hooks with braid hook length and a variety of baits such as boilies, pellets, and natural baits can be effective. For Roach, Rudd, and other silver fish, using smaller hooks and float fishing with maggots or worms can yield good results. For Chub and Barbel, try presenting baits such as luncheon meat or pellets in areas with cover or features. For the Crucians, using traditional tactics like float fishing with maggots or sweetcorn can produce good catches.

What facilities are on site?

The fishery offers various facilities to enhance the angling experience. Unhooking mats are provided to ensure the safe handling of large fish on the bank. There are designated parking areas to accommodate anglers’ vehicles. Additionally, the fishery may have a tackle shop on-site, toilets, and fishing huts where anglers can seek shelter or complete catch returns.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available at Christophers Lake. Anglers are requested to park in the designated parking areas to avoid blocking private roads or farm gates. Please park considerately, ensuring enough space for other anglers and farm-related activities.
