Fishery Information

Cider Farm Lakes is a five lake complex set into 40 acres of the beautiful Somerset countryside. The lakes are brilliant for anyone who loves a spot of match fishing, but there are some larger carp to tickle the tackle of any carp angler in Somerset too.

Cider Farm Lakes is mostly used by match anglers, and there are many matches on different lakes throughout the year. If you’re a match fishing pro, or you want the perfect lake to teach a beginner, Cider Farm has it all.

What size do the fish go to?

Most of the lakes are full of hard fighting F1, averaging about 3lbs a fish. However, there are a few double figure carp at this site and plenty of bream, roach and rudd to fill a keepnet with.

What tactics work well?

The fishing on this site happens hard and fast as the fish are used to match conditions. Baiting a small area and placing a method feeder in the area is a recipe for success. Waggler and pole fishing is also very popular. For baits, pellets are a great option here, as well as corn and maggots too. Many match anglers stick with pellets, though, either as an alternative to groundbait or on the hair.

What facilities are on site?

Cider Farm Lakes has a small tackle shop offering the basics and some baits popular on the site. There is also a cafe, toilets and some disabled access swims as well.

Is parking available?

Yes, there is parking available on site.
