Fishery Information

Decoy Lake is controlled by Hassocks Angling Association. You need to be a member of this fishing association to fish it. However, if you are a member and love some match fishing, this is the number one lake for you. It is also perfect for anglers that are new to fishing, as well as seasoned anglers too.

When you arrive at Decoy Lake, you will notice how beautiful the surroundings are and how cleverly placed the swims are. There are plenty of swims for everyone, and all of them command a good piece of the lake.

What size do the fish go to?

There haven’t been many catch reports for this lake over the last few years, so we can’t comment on the size of the fish. However, we can say there is a good head of carp, bream, roach, rudd, perch, chub and tench in this lake. The carp are nice and big and growing every year, as are the rest of the species.

What tactics work well?

This is the best match lake that Hassocks has on its books, so match-style tactics are the best to use. That means anything from a float to a pole. Method feeding is an ideal choice if you want to target the bigger fish, but you can have endless fun catching huge weights of bream, roach and rudd on a float rod.

What facilities are on site?

There are five specially designed pegs for disabled anglers.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available. Disabled anglers can park right next to their peg too.
