Fishery Information

Situated in Hungerford, West Berkshire, Denford Fishery is a famous chalk stream that offers and ideal spot for the keen Trout angler. The venue is a haven for wildlife and the largely unspoilt grounds make for a peaceful sporting ground. The fishing season operates from the 1st of April to the 30th of September each year. Individual day ticket holders are welcome as well as group bookings.

The waters host a healthy stock of Brown and Rainbow Trout and those who appreciate stalking their prey are guaranteed to enjoy a good day’s sport.

What size do the fish go to?

Brown and Rainbow Trout tend to average between 2-5lbs, with the occasional larger fish reaching well over 10lbs.

What tactics work well?

Traditional dry fly-fishing tactics tend to work well. The use of small nymphs is permitted from the beginning of July until the end of the season. Worms, Maggots, Crickets and Grasshoppers are all effective live baits.
