Fishery Information

Located near Oldham, Lancs, Denshaw Vale is a beautiful mixed fishery that offers a good day’s sport to both the beginner and more seasoned angler. The site is regularly restocked and hosts a healthy variety of Tench, Bream and carp.

The water is open all year round to both members of the Cairo angling club as well as day ticket holders. For more information on membership or day passes, customers are asked to get in touch with fishery management.

What size do the fish go to?

The average size of Carp ranges between 15 lbs and 20 lbs, with the occasional 30 lbs being reported. Large Nets of Bream and Tench have often been recorded at over 80lbs.

What tactics work well?

Either the pole or waggler are effective. Furthermore, using the feeder with sweetcorn or worms is an efficient way to land Bream and Carp. During the warmer months, anglers are also advised to make use of pellets and boilies.
