Situated in Whittle-le-Woods, Chorley, Low Mill Lodge is a stunning location that offers fantastic sport to both the novice and more seasoned angler. The site is approximately 3 acres and has a total of 20 pegs, several of which are accessible for the disabled and elderly angler. The venue boasts a variety of fishing features such as reeds, Islands and overhanging trees, meaning that guests can also appreciate an array of wildlife.
The waters are healthily stocked with Bream, Tench, Roach, Perch and Carp. Furthermore, it is not uncommon for large Pike to be landed.
What size do the fish go to?
Bream, Tench, Roach and Perch tend to weigh in between 3-8lbs. Carp are frequently caught well into the double figures, with the largest being recorded well over 20lbs. Despite being elusive, anglers have reported catches of Pike in the region of 18lbs.
What tactics work well?
Using a feeder with worms, sweetcorn or maggots tends to be effective in enticing the larger Carp and Pike. During the summer months, anglers may want to consider utilising pellets and boilies.
