Fishery Information

Situated in Theale, West Berkshire, Woolwich Green Lake is a serene setting that provides excellent sport for both the seasoned angler and beginner.  The lake is approximately 3-acres in size and hosts a good stock of Carp, Bream, Perch, Roach and Tench.

Anglers are permitted to use a maximum of two rods at any time, with Keepnets only being authorised during matches. Juniors are allowed to participate; however, they must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

The site is open all year and offers over 30 permanent platforms with a variety of fishing features. Day tickets must be purchased in advance, this can be done so by contacting the Reading Angling Centre, Northumberland.

What size do the fish go to?

The average size of Carp ranges between 15 lbs and 20 lbs, with the occasional 30 lbs being reported. Nets of Bream and Tench have occasionally been taken in at 100lbs during matches.

What tactics work well?

Maggots, paste, pellet, flavoured corn and luncheon meat are effective baits to use throughout the year.

What facilities are on site?

Clean and accessible toilet facilities are available on location.

Is parking available?

There are ample safe and secure car parking spaces.
