If you want Carp Fishing in Shropshire, try Earlsdale Retreat. Close to Shrewsbury and set in the foothills of the Shropshire Hills in an area of outstanding natural beauty, this fishery enjoys two spring-fed pools, a specimen pool, and a fun pool.

What size do the fish go to?

Lane Pool: Stocked with hard fighting, specimen carp up to 24lb. This pool is also home to specimen tench and grass carp.
Millennium Pool: This pool has been recently stocked with plenty of mirror, common, and grass carp to double figures. The original grass carp have now grown in excess of 20lb.

What tactics work well?

Lane Pool: Fishing from the northern bank, using Shelf-Life Boilies, Tiger Nuts, Plastic, or Artificial baits are not allowed. Barbless hooks, maximum 2 rods per peg, minimum 10lb mainline, and other specific rules apply.
Millennium Pool: Fishing close to the peg boards, using Barbless hooks, maximum 2 rods (2 people can fish with 1 rod each), minimum 6lb mainline, and other specific rules apply.

What facilities are on site?

The site includes a natural water-body (Lane Pool) and a man-made pool (Millennium Pool). Both are spring-fed, providing fantastic water quality and a beautiful natural environment. Parking is available for 3 vehicles at Lane Pool and 4 vehicles at Millennium Pool.
