Grand Union Canal Section ‘C’

Address

Moorhall Road, South Harefield, UB9 6PE, Herts, United Kingdom

Fishery Information

Section ‘C’ of the Grand Union Canal is administered by Blenheim Angling Society, which is also responsible for sections ‘A’ and ‘B’. Section ‘C’ lies between Blackjacks Lock (85) and Denham Deep Lock (87) and ‘no fishing’ section are clearly defined.

The fishery is easy to reach using the local road networks.

The canal is known for plentiful carp of decent sizes plus tench, chubb, bream, roach, perch and pike, each to varying sizes. This section is close to the town of Harefield, where you will find Harefield Tackle. Permits must be bought here before commencing fishing at the bank.

Although there is a well-maintained public towpath it is not clear if there is ample disabled access at this section. The fishery is open all year and anglers are advised as to the presence of power lines crossing the canal.

What size do the fish go to?

There is no current information on the size of the fish in the Grand Union Canal, although video evidence shows mature carp of 20lb and more are certainly present and perhaps bigger examples.

What facilities are on site?

There are no facilities to speak of along the canal. There is a public house within walking distance and plenty shops in Harefield.

Is parking available?

Parking is on the roadside in the indicated spots near the Horse and Barge public house, and anglers are asked to park away from the bridge and be courteous to other road users.
