Fishery Information

Hale Manor Lakes is a two lake fishing complex in Newport on the Isle of Wight. One of the lakes is a very good day ticket lake that is perfect if you’re holidaying on the island. The other is a syndicate lake and has the better fish. There is no waiting list for the syndicate, but spots do fill up quickly each year, so if you’re on the Isle of Wight and want to fish this lake, you need to be quick.

The day ticket lake has loads of fish, mainly small stuff, but there are a few carp in the lake that do take corn and maggots, so you can actually catch them fishing on float rods, which is a lovely surprise.

What size do the fish go to?

The carp in the small lake at Hale Manor Lakes (the day ticket water) go to about 16lbs, but there are plenty of 5-7lb carp to keep you catching all day long. The carp in the syndicate lake grow to about 30lbs, though. There are big roach, tench, bream and rudd in the day ticket lake as well, so good weights are really achievable here.

What tactics work well?

Pellets, corn and maggots are all really good baits to use here. Method feeder fishing is an ideal option if you’re aiming for the larger stuff. However, a float rod and a tin of corn are all you need to catch an impressive weight of fish here.

What facilities are on site?

No facilities that we know of.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available.
