Fishery Information
HBS Fisheries is owned by Richard Bult, who has worked in the fishery business for over 10 years and has created a very exciting syndicate at this lake. It is based in Somerset and offers really good condition fish for every angler to enjoy catching.
At the fishery, there are two lakes, the specimen lake and the match lake. The specimen lake is where the carp anglers hang out as there are some stunning carp to be caught. The match lake is a small lake that is nice and deep. It is also very well stocked. Match anglers will have a lot of fun on this lake.
What size do the fish go to?
In the specimen lake, there are 45 carp ranging from 12 to 30lbs. However, the lake record was set in 2017 with a beautiful 31lb 14oz mirror carp. That mirror carp hasn’t been caught since. Chances are, it is much bigger now!
The match lake is stock with carp to over 10lbs, some nice bream, a few good-sized tench, perch, roach and rudd. There is a chance at a very weighty keepnet on the match lake.
What tactics work well?
The carp in both lakes respond very well to well-placed boilies and pellets. Pellet is used as a free offering in both lakes. There are a number of features to fish to on the specimen lake that are well worth paying attention to. The match lake is very small, but the large fish still like to hang around in the deeper section in the middle.
What facilities are on site?
There are toilets and a small hut on site.
