Fishery Information

Situated in an idyllic countryside location near Loveclough, Lancashire, Hillside Fishery offers excellent sport to both the beginner and more seasoned angler. The site comprises of 5 lakes in total.

Doughnut lake is a match lake with 22 pegs, several of which are accessible to disabled and elderly anglers. The waters are home to a variety of Bream, Tench, Chub, Perch and carp.

At approximately 1.5 acres in size, Bankside is the second match lake. The water has a variety of fishing features, including over-hanging trees, lily pads and rushes. Furthermore, there is a healthy stock of Bream, Tench, Perch, Roach and Carp.

Opened in 2016, Pad Lake is a 3-acre specimen lake that offers some of the best Carp fishing in the Northwest. The depth of the water ranges between 3-25ft, with over 100 Carp in the double figures.

Hawthorne is the most established lake at the venue, with 6 bivvy pegs and a wide selection of Bream, Carp, Tench, Chub and Roach.

Bert’s Pool is a specimen water, with 10 bivvy begs and numerous large Carp and Catfish.

What size do the fish go to?

Bream, Roach, Rudd, Chubb and Perch tend to weigh between 2-7lbs. There are many large Carp and Catfish which go well into double figures, with the venue record being 51lbs for a Carp in Bert’s Pool.

What tactics work well?

Using a feeder with worms or sweetcorn can be extremely effective in enticing the larger species.
