Located in a tranquil and remote farm setting near Barley, Lancashire, Mirewater Lake offers a great day’s sport to the keen Trout angler. The site comprises of two small ponds, both of which have ample space and a good head of Rainbow and Brown Trout.

What size do the fish go to?

The waters are stocked weekly with fish averaging 2lbs. The Fishery record currently stands at 22lbs for Rainbow trout and 11lbs for Brown.

What tactics work well?

Using a dry sedge pattern and buzzer has proven to be effective for Brown Trout, which tend to lie deeper in the water. Also, casting short and staying back from the edge reduces the potential risk of spooking the fish.
