Fishery Information

Controlled by the Wakefield Angling Club, Horbury Lagoon is a 5-acre water with an average depth of 7 metres. Developed from an old gravel pit, this lagoon is home to stunning carp to over 20 lbs, pike to over 20 lbs, tench to 7 lbs and bream to 10 lbs.

Access to Horbury Lagoon is down Engine Lane, Horbury Junction. The water lies between the M1 motorway, the Railway and the River Calder.

What size do the fish go to?

Carp go to over 20 lbs, pike to over 20 lbs, tench to 7 lbs and bream to 10 lbs.

What tactics work well?

Facilities include a car park and a boathouse.

Is parking available?

Parking is available behind the boathouse. Do not park on the grass.
