Fishery Information

Situated just 8 miles from Hexham, Langley Damn is an extremely popular fly-fishing venue. The site spans approximately 14 acres and offers a host of fishing features. Fishing is permitted either from the banks or on boats if preferred. Furthermore, the water is fairly peaty and reaches depths of up to 10ft.

The venue was formerly a popular coarse fishery, which boasted a number of healthy Carp. However, it is now more famous for being an exceptional Trout fishery. Thus, visitors can expect to land some spectacular catches of both Brown and Rainbow Trout.

What size do the fish go to?

There are still a few Carp left, which can hit double figures. Brown and Rainbow Trout tend to hit between 8 and 10lbs, with the larger specimen getting up to 20lbs.

What tactics work well?

Small and traditional fly-fishing patterns tend to work well as well as lures.

What facilities are on site?

There are a total of 4 boats available for hire. As a result, it is important to book these in advance to secure your position. Furthermore, the site boasts tea and coffee making facilities. Also, clean and accessible toilet facilities are open to guests.
