Fishery Information

The most recent addition to the Mirfield AC Club Waters portfolio is the Lindley Wood Reservoir, found on the River Washburn in the Wharfe Valley and situated within the grounds of the Farnley Estate. Anglers have access to one of the quietest locations in all of Yorkshire at this reservoir.

Because it was exclusively used as a Trout syndicate for many years, it has never been fished by coarse anglers.   However, natural stocks of Chub, Perch, and Dace have flourished since the damming of the Washburn more than a hundred years ago giving rise to Lindley Wood Reservoir which provides a more stable environment for these fish to thrive.

The reservoir chain was stocked with roach and bream higher upstream, and these fish have successfully reproduced in the water to populate and create a fantastic mixed coarse fishery. If there are not enough fish to catch, the Osprey and Red Kites will keep you entertained.
