Located in Hinkley, Leicestershire, Little Pit Fishery is a mature clay pit that offers excellent fishing to the keen Carp angler. The lake has over 20 pegs, all of which host features such as reeds, bushes and willow trees. As a result, pegs give an intimate feel and provide shelter from the elements when necessary.

Furthermore, several of the pegs are doubles and offer accessible platforms to both the disabled and elderly anger. The fishery is open to members only, with the season running from June 16th until May 1st each year.

Notable fish species include Bream, Tench, Roach, Common and Mirror Carp.

What size do the fish go to?

Bream, Tench and Roach generally weigh between 3-8lbs. Carp are frequently caught in double figures and the largest specimen often exceed 20lbs.

What tactics work well?

The waggler and pole are effective when fishing close in and the slider float or ledger should be used when fishing further away. Additionally, maggots, caster, hemp and sweetcorn are all popular baits. Anglers should utilise pellets and boilies during the warmer months.
