Fishery Information

Lodge Farm Fishery is a relatively new facility located near St Osyth in Essex. It is easily reached from the local road networks and is managed by Colchester Angling Preservation Society (CAPS) who took on the site for development in 2005.

CAPS has stocked the water with a good head of carp, some being large mirrors in excess of 20lb. They also added many bream of around 4lb, as well as a few roach and rudd. Further stock included 200lb total of tench between 2lb and 5lb which were added in 2010.

The lake is well-maintained and as a new facility is still developing. As the water is used by the local farmer for irrigation that level changes throughout the year presenting different challenges. Night fishing can be arranged at Lodge Farm and day tickets are available. There is no closed season at this all-year fishery, and all levels of experience are welcome.

What size do the fish go to?

The original head of carp included some 20lb fish and that was the initial stock in 2005. Recent catches have included carp in excess of 30lb, and tench of close to 10lb. Bream of in excess of the original 4lb weight are also in the water.

What facilities are on site?

The Lodge Farm Fishery is a young facility with toilets provided that are regularly maintained by a contractor.

Is parking available?

There is a good car park near the main entrance to the fishery.
