Fishery Information

In 1998, the area now known as Longton Brickcroft is located in Preston and was given the status of a Local Nature Reserve. The area features several smaller and three larger ponds created from clay excavation.

The entire region creates an oasis amidst densely populated and intensively farmed land, and the pathways offer excellent vantage points from which to view a diverse array of wildlife, such as the ever-shifting population of birds that find the habitat of the south lake. There are instructive displays on the history of the place and the wildlife in both the visitor centre and the displays throughout the walkways.
