Fishery Information
Mersey Valley Golf & Country Club’s Fishery is a calm and lovely setting within the Mersey valley countryside. It includes 2 lakes, all independently landscaped providing wonderful days of coarse fishing for everybody.
All the lakes are extensively populated with the greatest quality Carp, Chub, Bream, Roach, Perch, and Barbel.
The larger lake, Chestnut, contains two huge islands, with 29 fishing platforms along the perimeter and depths of water ranging from 1 metre to around 2 to 3 metres in parts. The smaller lake, Acorn, has one island with 20 fishing platforms and water depths that are comparable to those of the larger lake.
A 1-metre deep and 1 metre wide ledge surrounds the perimeter of both lakes to ensure adequate weed growth, to encourage spawning, and to serve as a safety ledge, among other things.
What size do the fish go to?
Quality Common and Mirror Carp go well into double figures, Roach up to 2½ lbs, Perch to over 4 lbs, Tench to 4 lbs
