Fishery Information

Situated in Marden, Kent, Monk Lakes is a 120-acre fishery consisting of two pleasure lakes, a specimen lake and 4 match lakes.

Fishing of the waters is permitted day or night, with the pleasure lakes requiring no pre-booking. Due to the popularity of the specimen lake, booking is required one day in advance by telephone.

Mallard Lake is a 5-acre specimen lake aimed at the more seasoned angler. A maximum of 10 anglers are permitted at any one time and are allowed to use three rods. The waters are healthily stocked with large Carp and Catfish.

Bridges Lakes is a 16-acre pleasure lake. There are a variety of fishing features such as submerged water plants, reeds, and lily beds. The waters host a healthy stock of Mirrors, Ghost, Common Carp, as well as Barbel, Bream, Tench and Dace.

Puma lake is a 10-acre pleasure lake. Stocked with Carp, Barbel, Bream, and Tench, these waters are particularly well suited to the disabled angler, given that parking is available on location.

The 4 match lakes range from 2 acres to 4 acres. They boast a wide range of stock such as Carp, Barbel, Green and Golden Tench, Chub, Bream and Roach.

What size do the fish go to?

Smaller Carp come in at around 10lbs with larger catches of 35lbs frequently reported. Bream weigh in at around 3lbs, as well as a healthy quantity of Tench in the 12lbs region. The record for Catfish currently stands at over 40lbs.

What tactics work well?

Using a feeder with sweetcorn or worms has proven to be beneficial. In the warmer months, using pellets and boilies may help to entice the larger carp.

The site boasts a tackle and bait shop, a catering unit with outdoor seating, and clean toilet facilities.
