Fishery Information

The Nine Oaks Fishery located in the heart of the Welsh countryside, in stunningly beautiful surroundings just a few miles inland from the coastal villages of New Quay and Aberaeron on Cardigan Bay. In addition to providing excellent day-ticket coarse and trout fishing, the Nine Oaks Angling Centre also provides accommodations for vacationers.

The facility currently provides two coarse lakes, three trout lakes, and a former stock pond  turned into a children’s pool. The Trout Lakes are home to primarily Rainbow and Blue Trout, in addition to some smaller Brown Trout. All species of carp are present in the Coarse Lakes, including Commons, Mirrors, Koi, and Grass Carp, as well as Roach, Bream, and skimmer Bream, Tench, and small Chub.

What size do the fish go to?

Carp to 20lbs plus,  Bream to 10lbs and Tench to 7lbs

Rainbow and Blue Trout to 7lbs

What tactics work well?

It is possible to have a lot of success with ledger fishing on the coarse lakes if you use a conventional bomb or method feeder loaded with Vitalin and sweetcorn and a hook with two corn kernels in it. When fishing for trout, switch up the flies frequently until you determine which one the fish want to feed on.
