Fishery Information

The Northingales Ponds, which have a combined about 20 pegs and cover an area of about 1.5 acres, reopened for business on April 1, 2013. A very diverse mixed fishery, it contains large heads of carp, bream, tench, perch, crucians, barbel, rudd, flounder, eels, dace, and roach, some of which run well into specimen size.

The fishery is quite peaceful since the owner, who is kind and helpful, does not run it as a business but rather as a pastime. However, deep water is challenging, and there is a significant amount of effort required to obtain any return. It opens from the break of dawn until well into the evening.

What size do the fish go to?

Fish can go up to 8lb and above.

What tactics work well?

Tactics include the Pole, Waggler, or Feeder. The depth is the most important factor in determining whether you will be successful in catching any fish. Maggots and casters do well for catching silver fish, whereas corn, bread, and meat are more likely to catch larger species.
