Fishery Information

Set in the picturesque tree-lined countryside of East Yorkshire, Oakland Waters is located between the villages of Hensall and Gowdall, near the small town of Snaith. This venue offers a range of fishing options from coarse fishing through specimen fishing.

This family run fishery is home to 4 lakes, 2 of which are mixed coarse lakes.

Horseshoe Lake is a horseshoe-shaped lake with a centre island. This 39-peg water has varying depths between 6 and 10 feet and many features to fish to. It is home to stunning carp, tench, barbel, roach, rudd, bream, ide, perch, crucians and chub.

Round Lake is a 16-peg water that is ideal for small club matches. It features an underground island and lily pads.

Roadside Carp Lake is an adult-only water that is home to carp to over 16 lbs. It features a central island and has varying depths between 8 and 12 feet. Boilies, rod pods or alarms are prohibited on this lake. A minimum of 5-lb line or elastic is required for fishing here.

Specimen Lake is a 2-acre, 10-peg lake that is home to carp to 30 lbs, Wels catfish to 50 lbs and pike to 30 lbs. Booking is required for fishing on this lake, especially during weekends and bank holidays.

Carp go to 30 lbs, catfish to 50 lbs and pike to 30 lbs.

What tactics work well?

It is recommended to make the most of the features and use plenty of corn or meat when targeting carp. Silver fish respond well to maggot and caster during colder months.
