Fishery Information

Parklands Caravan Park is an amazing location for camping, and fishing among other activities. It is a  tranquil location just outside of Northallerton and features  two lakes that are ideal for coarse fishing. The well-established lakes have 52 fishing platforms and plenty of fish.

The Kingfisher Lake is more of a feeder-based lake, with sixteen pegs, whereas the Parklands Lake is more of a long canal-style lake with plenty of feeder and float pegs and two islands that can accommodate poles of varying lengths. Carp, Roach, Rudd, Chub, Barbel, Bream, Tench, and Golden Orf are some of the species  found in the lakes.

What size do the fish go to?

Carp to 20lb, Roach to 4lb, Rudd and Chub to 4lb, Barbel to 6lb, Bream to 5lb

What tactics work well?

You should try to keep the feed going every five minutes as there are much smaller fish that can very quickly go through the bait. This will not only help bring the larger fish in throughout the session, but it will also help bring the smaller fish in.

Bait a little using a pouch of bait for each cast or fish often. Because the water is only two feet deep in some areas, but with a good number of fish, anglers should make an effort to use as little tackle as possible to improve their catches. Some examples of such tackle include pole rigs with light shots and swim feeders.
