Fishery Information

Set in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, the 1.5-mile stretch of River Dane is a members-only water controlled by the Warrington Anglers Association. The stretch is located in farmland just north of Holmes Chapel.

River Dane is home to beautiful chub to 3 lbs, grayling, trout, roach, dace, eels and minnows.

What size do the fish go to?

Trout go to 3 lbs.

What tactics work well?

Small baits like maggots and larger baits like bread, cheese, luncheon meat and pellets work for catching chub. If you are aiming to catch some barbel, do not ignore the overhanging willows at the bottom end of the stretch. A roving approach works best on this water. Travel lights and change swims often to catch nice fish.
