Fishery Information

River Severn is a venue that has 5 beautiful lakes: Hampton Loade, Unicorn, Kempsey, Yeandley Farm and Bevere. Tickets are available on the bank from the bailiff. Hampton Loade, Kempsey and Unicorn are available for match bookings.

Hampton Loade has 50 pegs of prime barbel water situated 6 miles downstream of Bridgnorth on the left bank of the Middle Severn. Fish species present in this water include chub, dace, eel, perch, pike and roach. This stretch turns up double figure barble, especially on the upstream pegs. Day ticket fishing is available only in the top 3 meadows. The bottom two are reserved for members only. Parking is available near the stretch. All methods work for catching fish here. Fishing is allowed from dawn until dusk only.

Unicorn has 15 pegs slight upstream of Hampton Loade stretch on the opposite bank upstream of the Ferry. It is home to all river fish species associated with the Middle Severn. The most popular fishing method for this water is on the feeder with bait preferences similar to Hampton Loade. Day and weekly tickets are available on site.

Kempsey has 24 pegs downstream of Worcester on the Lower Severn. It is situated 3 to 4 miles from Junction 7 of the M5. This is one of the top waters and club members have had some amazing catches from this water, including double figure barbel, roach to over 2 lbs., bream to 9 lbs., pike to 20 lbs., and huge zander. Chub, eel, flatfish and perch are also present in this water. Parking is about 150 yards away from the river.

Yeandley is a fabulous stretch that has been run as a syndicate for many years now. It is more famed for zander fishing than barbel fishing. The syndicate best is over 14 lbs. This water produces barbel up to 13 lbs., carp up to 20 lbs., chub, bream, bleak, roach, pike and perch. Members are allowed to access the bank in their cards during dry weather only. There is a wet weather parking area on site as well. Night fishing is allowed here.

Bevere provides a slow and deep fishing experience, with overhanging bushes and trees in the margins. It is home to good-sized roach, bream, chub, barbel, pike, zander and perch. Night fishing is permitted here.

What size do the fish go to?

Kempsey produces roach up to 2 lbs., bream to 9 lbs. and pike to 20 lbs.. Yeandley produces zander up to 14 lbs., barbel to 13 lbs. and carp to 20 lbs..

What tactics work well?

All fishing methods work for Hampton Loade. Feeder with bait preferences is recommended when fishing on Unicorn.
