Fishery Information

The Saxon Mill Fishery is a privately owned Syndicate found in the rural hub of Warwick on a stretch of the River Avon. The stretch offers excellent fishing for a variety of species at over 40 different pegs, including catches of roach, chub, dace, and grayling. In addition, the venue features a private section with eight pegs solely devoted to fishing the Monster Pike, Carp, and Barbel that frequent throughout the entire year. Eels, some of which are quite large, call this stretch of land home as well. These eels like to take refuge in the ruins of the castle and the blockwork that supports the first mill.

What size do the fish go to?

The Saxon Mill is home to a large population of hard-fighting, water-jumping, beautifully colored pike. These pike range in size with some tipping the scales at 20 pounds or more in the deeper spots. Large fish weighing up to two pounds can be found in small shoals that are difficult to locate, but the typical stamp weighs between four and eight ounces. The average size of a dace is between 3 and 6 ounces, but some have been as large as 12 ounces.

What tactics work well?

Both stick float and waggler approaches work wonderfully, and very long trots are possible. However, ledgering typically results in the capture of larger fish.

What facilities are on site?

On site toilets

Is parking available?
