Sonning Eye Pit

Address

Sonning Eye, Reading, Berkshire RG4 6TT, United Kingdom

Fishery Information

Sonning Eye Pit is a massive lake that is run by the Reading and District Angling Association. It’s well-known water in the local area and there are rumours that carp of up to 49lb have been caught here. The only issue is that the lake is part of a sailing club so fishing is limited as a lot of it is out of bounds to fishermen.

If carp are not your thing then there are some large tench and bream to be caught and there are plenty of both.

It’s also a very popular water with pike anglers in the winter.

What size do the fish go to?

Carp to 49lb (could be a rumour)

What tactics work well?

It’s not known what works well.

What facilities are on site?

There are no facilities on site.

Is parking available?

Useful for lesser able-bodied anglers as the top swims can be parked in making it possible to more or less fish from the car.
