Fishery Information

West Hampshire is home to Woodhouse Mill Ponds, which features two lakes for fishing across just less than two acres in Huddersfield. The ponds strategically placed within the wooded nature refuge, are designed to encourage children to take up fishing. There is a unique space for dipping ponds, as well as a general overview of the mill’s historical operation, which includes the mill’s original water controls and even a gun mount from World War II.

What size do the fish go to?

Carp 10lb to 24lb, Tench 2lb plus, roach, perch, bream all sizes, some chub and the odd pike to contend with.

What tactics work well?

Because these fish have been naturally feeding for a significant amount of time, it might be difficult for anglers to select the bait that will be most successful. However, conventional methods for coarse fishing still tend to be effective when combined with the use of a feeder with worms, sweetcorn, or maggots.

What facilities are on site?

There is a picnic area on the premises, toilets, simple parking, a bus stop directly across the street and a railway station within walking distance, disabled accessible pegs, and onsite assistance, if required.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available.
