Fishery Information

Ashby Park is a pleasant holiday home site with facilities for touring caravans and fishing on no fewer than seven lakes within the park itself. Located in the hamlet of West Ashby, it is easily accessible from the A153 and a short driver from Horncastle, one of Lincolnshire’s most attractive market towns.

Each of the lakes has its own character. Lake 1 is the match lake and Lake 2 the specimen lake, each holding good head of sizeable carp plus pike, perch, bream and tench all of good sizes. Lake 2 also holds roach.

Lakes 3 and 4 are sheltered lakes with similar stocks, and with access designed for disables and less mobile anglers, plus car parking next to many of the pegs.

Lakes 5, 6 and 7 are well-stocked with a variety of coarse species, the latter including a good head of crucian carp and elusive barbel.

Note that fishing is only available to residents or touring visitors, and there are no day tickets available.

What size do the fish go to?

There is little information as to the size of the fish in the lakes at Ashby Park, though Lakes 1 and 2 hold the biggest carp.
