Fishery Information
Bellflask Fishery is best known for its fantastic trout fishing, with brown and rainbow trout on offer. There are day tickets to this trout fishing venue available, and there are some stunning trout in this lake. However, there are also other fish species lurking in this lake too. A recent article brought to light the massive pike in this lake, and there seems to be plenty of them too. Three friends managed to catch three 30lb plus pike in just under an hour here recently!
What size do the fish go to?
The average stamp for the trout in this lake is about 5lbs, but double-figure trout have been known here too. We also know there is a 35lb pike in this lake and two 30lbers too. How many other big pike are in this lake? No one really knows for sure. There could also be huge perch, tench, bream, carp and more. There are perch to over 3lbs here (confirmed), but there are likely bigger monsters lurking in the lake.
What tactics work well?
If you’re after the predators in this lake, lures and dead baits work very well. The pike mentioned above were all caught on dead baits, though. For the trout, fly fishing is, of course, the best method. The best fly greatly depends on the time of year. The staff at Bellflask can give you better info when you arrive on the bank.
What facilities are on site?
The facilities are a touch limited, but the fishing is fantastic.
