Fishery Information

Blackburn Farm is a working farm, fly fishery and campsite. Here you can stay in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales close to the wonderful market town of Hawes and catch some excellent trout. The fly fishing here is available all year round, and the prices are very reasonable too. You can fish for 4 hours or 8 hours here; there are tickets available that let you take some fish home with you too.

The fly fishing lake is a 1-acre water stocked with beautiful rainbow trout. The water is nice and clear, and it provides a healthy environment for the fish to grow nice and big.

What size do the fish go to?

The trout in this lake go to about 5lbs regularly, but there is the occasional larger one that makes it to the bank. The fishery is stocked regularly too, so there is never a day without a catch on this lake.

What tactics work well?

The tactics on this lake greatly depend on the time of year you go. When you arrive, you buy tickets from the farmhouse. The farmer knows the lake like the back of his hand, so make sure to ask which flies are working well when you arrive.

What facilities are on site?

Along with some excellent fly fishing, there is also a small campsite. Toilet facilities are available near the campsite. The local area also has some wonderful cafes and restaurants that are worth exploring while you’re in the area.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available.
