Butterswood Lodge has four lakes to choose from and is open to day ticket holders, and they also have a membership offer as well. If you live near Butterswood Lodge, it is well worth getting a membership; the lakes offer a huge array of fishing, perfect for anyone who loves to target different fish species. While there are no massive carp here, there really doesn’t need to be. The lakes at Butterswood Lodge are set into beautiful surroundings, and the peace and quiet as you fish is often enough. Catching a few good quality fish is always nice, and there are some beauties here.
What size do the fish go to?
As we said, there are no record-breaking fish on this site. Still, you can catch double-figure carp here. There are also some very nice tench and bream at this site. There are always plenty of roach and rudd to catch here, too, and a few ghost and koi in some of the ponds.
What tactics work well?
Pole and float fishing are so fun at Butterswood Lodge. A can of corn and some groundbait can really catch you a good weight of fish over the day.
What facilities are on site?
There is a really good bait shop at Butterswood Lodge that is well worth heading to when you arrive. Most of the fish at this venue respond very well to the good selection of bait they stock. There are also cottages at Butterswood Lodge and picnics areas, and more.
